Tirzepatide Units to mg
Converting tirzepatide between mg and U-100 syringe units needs the concentration (mg/mL) printed on the vial. The amount itself must come from your prescriber.
Type in either Units or Amount — the other fills in.
Formula
- units = mg ÷ concentration (mg/mL) × 100
- mg = units ÷ 100 × concentration (mg/mL)
Tirzepatide units chart
Rows are the dose-per-injection strengths listed in Section 3 of the FDA labeling for Mounjaro and Zepbound (see the tirzepatide calculator page for the verbatim label text). Columns are concentrations. Cells show U-100 units; "—" means more than 100 units. Arithmetic reference only — not a titration schedule.

Approved products vs compounded vials
Mounjaro and Zepbound are FDA-approved and come as pens or vials with fixed strengths, used as supplied per the Instructions for Use — you do not convert units for them. Compounded tirzepatide from pharmacies is not FDA-approved, and concentrations differ between pharmacies, which is why a units chart must always be read against your vial's mg/mL.
FAQ
How many units is 2.5 mg of tirzepatide?
It depends on concentration: units = mg ÷ (mg/mL) × 100. At 10 mg/mL, 2.5 mg = 25 units on a U-100 syringe. Check the mg/mL on your own vial label.
Is there a standard tirzepatide units-to-mg conversion?
No. Units are volume (0.01 mL each), so the conversion changes with every concentration. The FDA-approved pens deliver fixed doses and are not read in units at all.
Are compounded tirzepatide vials FDA-approved?
No. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved; FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality before marketing. Use them only through a licensed prescriber and pharmacy, and follow their instructions.
